Morgan Ashurst wins £49m student halls job

Morgan Ashurst has won a £49.3m contract to build new student halls of residence at the University of Reading, under a £200m refurbishment and redevelopment programme.

The contractor will build two new halls consisting of 965 study bedrooms and two warden flats at the university’s Whiteknights Campus. 

The buildings will be split over four to six storeys. 

Morgan Ashurst will also build a new catering building, a student launderette, and will refurbish the existing ground floor of Windsor Hall to form new offices as part of the scheme.

Work is due to complete in September 2010.
