One of CJ's journalists, Neil Gerrard, has unearthed video footage of dangerous horseplay on building sites on video-sharing website YouTube. Today's front page story on Contract Journal carries stills from the controversial videos and the web version carries links straight to the videos themselves. The videos show men, dressed in construction clothing, indulging in some shockingly dangerous antics - from setting light to a colleague's boots, to hitting a man on the head for failing to wear a hard hat. It's certainly not harmless fun. Check out the videos for yourself via the online story, 'Industry outrage at YouTube videos apparently showing dangerous on-site horseplay', read our editor's comment, and tell us what you think - here, or by emailing Neil Gerrard, at neil.gerrard@rbi.co.uk.
Construction, incidentally, isn't the only industry to have had its reputation dented in this way in recent days - in the retail sector, Somerfield has launched an investigation after videos surfaced on YouTube of pranksters wearing its uniform while undertaking various stupid stunts. The outcome of both stories should be interesting.
