Old earthmoving equipment at the Steam Gas & Horse National Pike show May 2009

It really is a pleasure to watch old kit in action in the hands of experienced old operators and in this video you can really appreciate just how hard it must of been for the pioneering muckshifters of years gone by.

The National Pike show which is held in Brownsville USA is now in its 29th year and is organized by the Steam, Gas and Horse Association which was founded in 1980.

Would be great to make a trip out there one of these years!

It will certainly make me think twice next time I complain that the air con isn't working or the CD player keeps jumping!

Just imagine doing a 12 hour shift in one of those old girls.
