Digger heads for New Holland event

Next Friday three of the UK's top operators fly out to Turin in Italy to take part in the New Holland Grand Prix 2009 along with your blogger Nick Drew and Graham Black from Earthmovers who will both be representing the UK press/media.

The participants will take part in a series of challenges like the one shown in this photo from one last years UK regional heats.

This European competition dedicated to construction equipment operators will be held at the evocative location of Parco del Valentino, symbol of the city of Turin, for the 2009 edition.

The competition will take place in an area of approximately 1500 m2 situated on the margins of the park opposite the Torino Esposizioni building (the exhibition complex designed by architect Pier Luigi Nervi in 1949), and is certain to attract a large audience. The best equipment operators in Europe, coming from Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy, will compete in spectacular skills and timed tests using New Holland Construction's latest light equipment models.

The skills tests will showcase the performance of the light equipment machines, and will feature the E22.2SR and E16B mini excavators, the L185B skid steer loader, and the E80MSR midi crawler excavator. The heavy line will be represented at the event through a static display, which will include a W190B wheel loader and an E135B crawler excavator.

Look out for the full report from this exciting event in a future Digger blog post.
