Aimed at filling the gap between Caterpillar's 428E and 432E Premium, the new UK built CAT 432E Utility Plus model is a value based proposition for customers wanting to reduce costs, without compromising on the Cat 432E machine performance.
With a 95 horse power engine, replacing the 101 horse power unit traditionally used in the CAT 432E, the new Utility Plus model offers customers a 5% fuel saving with minimal impact to productivity.
By retaining the 432E core models 40kph, five speed Powershift transmission, the value proposition of the Cat 432E Utility Plus becomes even more attractive, especially as customers can benefit from an up to 10% saving in purchase price, when compared to the core Cat 432E Premium.
Commenting on the new model, Robert Doble, Finning Product Manager said: "This model is a product of our customers choosing, developed from customer feedback and demand for a lower cost, high performing backhoe Loader. In working with the R&D team at the Caterpillar Building Construction Products facility in Desford, Leicester, we have been able to bring all of the 'built to last' qualities that are synonymous with the Caterpillar brand, to this lower cost, Utility focused model.

"With fuel prices continuing to rise, the main focus for the introduction of the 432E Utility Plus is to help customers reduce their operating costs as much as possible. We have been able to do this by introducing the 95 horse power C4.4 engine into the 432E, which results in significant reductions in fuel consumption.
What this means in practical terms is a 5% fuel saving, without affecting excavator performance. When comparing the 432E Utility Plus to the core 432E Premium, the only differences a customer will observe is a slight reduction in pushing force when driving into a stock pile if the machine is used for loader work and a small variation in acceleration, when travelling from site to site."
To the untrained eye, visibly the machine is no different to the Previous CAT 432E, the only noticeable changes are the removal of the front prop shaft guard, and one of the counterweights. Within a simplified cab design operators, will still benefit from excellent all round visibility, a fully opening single piece rear window, the comfort of an air suspension seat, and an impressive list of features including; pilot controls, load sensing hydraulics and a full set of cab working lights.
