Remember the name Michael Saxon – you’ll probably see it in a bookshop near you soon. Saxon, aka Morris and Spottiswood site manager Michael Wickens, has had his first novel published. It’s called The Killing Hour, and is apparently based on a series of vivid dreams Michael had in which he saw people being murdered.
This proved the inspiration for the book’s main character James Elliot, a troubled man who is tormented by dark, disturbing visions. As the dreams get more violent, he goes to see shrink Dr Charles Davies.
“As he delves into Elliot’s subconscious, Davies realises that he’s seen these symptoms before, but nothing can prepare him for the terrifying truth,” the blurb says.
Wow, what could the truth be? Incorrect PPE? Nesting pipistrelle bats? A late consignment of concrete, perhaps? You’ll have to buy the book to find out. Meanwhile if you seen Wickens in your site canteen, my advice is to keep one eye on him, one on the door, and edge away slowly.
