Living on the ledge

I mused a couple of weeks back on a pic that apparently showed English Architectural Glazing workers peering over the edge of a job at the London School of Economics minus a harness.

Its director Edward Whipp got in touch to put me right – with photos to prove his point. He wrote: “While I appreciate the light-hearted nature of your column, health and safety of operatives working at height, or anywhere else come to that, is no laughing matter and I look forward to seeing you say as much in the next issue.” Sorry Edward, I’m now looking at the floor like a naughty schoolboy.
