Severfield Rowen holds AGM in pub

Contractors are having to cut costs at every level as the economy continues to teeter on the edge of recession.

And there's no better county to save cash in than North Yorkshire where Severfield Rowen has decided to hold its AGM in the local pub. Why waste money on fancy hotels when the nearest boozer will do just as well?

Shareholders will get the low down on the firm's financial health at the Angel Inn in Topcliffe near Thirsk later this month. As the pub's website boasts: "The dining and bar areas have a relaxing ambience and are a perfect setting for eating and drinking."

That should come in handy for investors who might need a glass or two after listening to why the share price has halved during the last 12 months.
