Strewth! Are Carillion staff being tempted down under?

Carillion bosses might have to start blocking emails from Australia if they don't want to lose a raft of senior staff.

Former Alfred McAlpine director Steve Smith has updated his former colleagues - now under the Carillion banner - about life down-under following his move to Aussie giant Leighton Contractors.

His email contains a stunning shot of Melbourne and tales of life watching decent rugby and the imminent start of cricket at his local ground - the MCG (pictured).

Smith's new division is bidding for AUS$11bn of work in the next two years and he adds: "Any professional or personal visitor enquiries will be gratefully received and please keep in touch. There are plenty of opportunities for both work and holidays and the Leighton-McAlpine clan continues to grow."
