Outdoor types at British Land

My inner cynic seems to get the better of me when it comes to sustainability, mostly because it leads to such good PR opportunities.

So I had to give myself a pat on the back at the topping-out ceremony for British Land's Ropemaker building, which has devoted 50% of its roof space to greenery.

As the firm's chief Stephen Hester explained: "I might not have much experience in buildings, but I know my gardens. Their inclusion gets me off the back of the design team.
"I think I might even come out here with a trowel to keep myself out of people's hair."

Good to see the folks at British Land keeping their boss happy.
