Interesting post, most 'anti wind farmers' point out the danger to birds not bats. I myself prefer the VAWT type (Vertical Axis) of turbine, these are much better in urban areas where wind is more turbulant than the HAWT (Horizontal Axis) turbines. VAWT I have read are also much more bird friendly, I wonder if that is true for bats as well, I dont think much research will be done on the topic as VAWT's are not as popular as the HAWT's.
