I am a member of the IOSH and I find it very useful!

Having personally chosen CITB GE700 over all the rest of the gobbledygook that is being bandied around as my key H&S reference, I find from a ‘personal development' point of view the lectures and open seminars hugely beneficial in ironing-out any queries or doubts that I might have within GE700 i.e., it gives me somewhere to learn more and to convey that knowledge out on the sites, there are also many conference and exhibition attendance potentials available.

Having said that, I don't think much of their website - not sure what they've done to it but it has been crashing all week when I've tried to get on it.

I am a member of the Thames Valley Branch and don't seem to be having any problems Fred.

I,m a Tech. member and apart from looking good on the old CV it hasn,t done much for me. I got a letter published in October in the magazine asking about where do I go from here, H&S job wise. Both replies were not helpful.

I have IOSH, why because the company I worked for decided that all managers should have this qualification.

Its a recognised safety qualification within the international construction industry and therefore useful, but not much use here in the UK as I believe CITB / CSCS and so on dont recognise it.

And why do you think that is SteamBoss?

Because its not cost effective for them and it doesn't fit in with their aspirations to control us all.

I, as noted elsewhere within this forum, continue to champion GE700 (published and distributed by CITB) and disagree that IOSH do not recognise it.

One thing I have learnt from our Eastern Block cousins is, we don't have to be clones, go where its available and continue to be able to pay your bills, feed and cloth your kids and stuff this money-making control concept once and for all!
