Alan Ritchie and the Corporate Manslaughter Act.

UCATT have campaigned vigorously for years for the Corporate Manslaughter Act to be brought into law and Alan Ritchie has made the Union’s position quite clear on this in stating at the delegate conference that the act did not go anywhere near far enough and the campaign will continue. Alan Ritchie has been consistent in his call for laws that will see a company director jailed. Under Alan Rithcie UCATT has used hard hititng reports to get out the message that employers are getting away with murder and under his leadership we have seen the HSE backtracking fearful of UCATT’s power to get the government to listen, and this has resulted in the latest inquiry into health and safety in the construciton industry being called.

This would not have happened without Ritchie pulling the levers inside government.

I trust this man and this Union to represent the interests of our members and their families above personal crusades, reading Dooleys stuff this man is on a personal crusade that will lead to disaster if he ever becomes General Secretary of UCATT.

Given the whacking pay rise Ritchie received recently I think it's a bit rich to make him out as some crusader against the fat cats.

RE: Alan Ritchie and the Corporate Manslaughter Act.

I do hope you are not swollowing the rubbish that Mick Dooley has put in his Election address.

For your info Dooley does not say that the General Sec Alan Ritchie recieved a 27% rise.

Like the Ilusionist he thinks he is, he meerly states he was alarmed to read in the press about the so called rise.

I go to my UCATT Branch regularly and I read carefully all the stuff from General Office, including our financial reports.

Before we jump to unfounded conclusions we should always read carefully what is written, because and half decent illusionist can missdirect most of the people some of the Time.

I have not heard the highly principled Mr Dooley state that he would not accept the wages that the General Sec recieves, or am also misstaken?

Again I must reiterate my position yet again, Alan Ritchie bis a plain speaking man that I trust at the helm of UCATT and Dooley is not.
