Why are Plant operators not considered professionals?

Everywhere i look we are considered as "Other" when chippy's, Sparky's and other trades are considered as professionals!

I know we sit on our arses all day but i can look at trade professionals and honestly think my kids can do that but for some fked up reason they are in a class above machine drivers!

    Why is this?

I don't know one chippy or sparks could do my job as easy as i could do theirs!

    Horses for Courses methinks Supa?

Albeit, I have great admiration for a 'good' machine driver who of course is most certainly a professional!

I'm not popping at any trade in particular but most job search companies think we machine drivers are pretty basic!

Grabs, grapples, munchers, pulveriuzers, crushers, screeners, pile drivers, breakers, demolition, construction, waste recycling, Fragmentors, long reach, high cabs!.

We show our face on a building site and thats about a quarter of what we do!

I have seen a lot worse than me bullshit themselves as a chippy!
