Hi Dr Dave - I've moved this thread into the plant and machinery section as that's what the show is mostly about.

Yes - I'll be there. SED is always a good day out - or three - particularly if you're interested in machinery.

It's also very sociable, and I believe a few visitors and exhibitors have been known to 'network' well into the evening...

 Cool - the machinery is what I'm interested in primarily.....I can't see us being able to socialise well into the early hours though...too much to get on with back at 'home'!

Assuming there's enough interest, I'll sort out a meet up at SED for all ConstructionSpacers who are going.

I'm sure we can manage a bit of hospitality, even during the credit crunch...

Well I haven't missed a show since 1985 so can't see me missing it this year!!

I generally go up for the middle day but I may do two this year Tues/Wed.

If you are a machine fanatic like me it's essential viewing

I like the idea of a CS meet-up and maybe a bit of hospitality.

I should be able to attend any day that suits the majority, we'll see how it all pans out

I'll be going to SED for sure. Haven't missed the event for years and certainly won't miss it because a few doom merchants are moaning about the number of exhibitors. Fair play to SED for supporting the industry when it really needs it - from the look of their website there's still more than enough going on. By the way, who mentioned beer......

Talk of the devil - I have just got the latest SED e-shot appear in my inbox. New Holland and Vauxhall have signed up this week. Add that to NRC Plant, Hyundai, Doosan, Bobcat, Nissan, Amman and Engcon to name but a few and it looks like a decent show shaping up again.

It's a perfect example to show we are keen despite the recession. We need to be positive and look to the future because it won't be long before it all turns around and we are back on track!

Just got it on very good authority that New Holland are rolling out a number of new B-series excavators at SED in May - they would seem relatively unpeturbed by demo-man's doomongery

So who is definitely going to be meeting up at SED in May then?

I for one am looking forward to meeting old and new friends and fellow forum members

Would be great if we could get some figures on the number of people who will be showing up.

Good to see such enthusiasm for an SED meetup. Is it the chance there may be beer  that's getting you all fired up?!

We are going to try and organise something for either the Tuesday or the Wednesday.

Does anyone have any preferences? Let us know what day suits you all best, and we'll try and arrange ConstructionSpace-at-SED shindig accordingly.

1. I'll be there Tuesday and Wednesday. By the way, if anybody wants accommodation, a brand new Hilton has opened within walking distance of the show. When I booked in two weeks ago they still had plenty of space available. It is half the price of the Holiday Inn

Any chance you could knock the capital letters on the head though mate? It's not easy on the eye and it feels like you're shouting at us! 

 Sorry about the shouting mate but my boss gets angry if he cant here me above these damn 125 virgin trains. At least i will get some peace at SED i am sure he beer and burger tent will be quiet, if not i will have to find a passing rock crusher. The boss says that the elf and safty prat , i mean man says it will be all right as long as i wear a bin lid. i told him my bins made of ally and would ring like a bell he said i had to wear a plastic one , so at 3 foot round i am not sure my head will fit.     ah well see you in the thousands at SED i will be the one who is wearing what looks like a cheap black sunbrero you wont be able to miss me

SED is just days away now and the first ever ConstructionSpace meetup is scheduled to go ahead on the Wednesday.
