Will my comments be re-used elsewhere?

Based on my personal experience today, the answer is yes (not that I mind all that much).

I found these forums through a Twitter link and so I perhaps should have expected that @ContractJournal would be likely to use Twitter to re-send juicy snippets and tempt new users in.

But it is probably worth asking Janie and the team what guidelines they have in place for this? I assume anything in the public forums is fair game, but it would be good to know where and how comments might be used (eg: on Twitter, in the print edition of CJ, on the CJ website, etc)

Smile Good question EEPaul. You must be writing some cracking posts to be Tweeted already!

We would like to use comments posted in the public forum elsewhere. Places we'd like to use them (as you've mentioned) is in the CJ print edition, on the CJ website and Twitter. This may be extended but at the moment we've no plans to. We'll only use comments to highlight the latest interesting discussions on the forums; to draw more people into the debate.

How does that sit with everyone? Of course, we'd never reproduce anything sent to us via email or private message and only a chosen username will be used for ID.

Check out our Terms and Conditions for full details, but I'd welcome your thoughts on this.

Fair point Paul - but as far as I see it, I'd be happy for any comment I make in the public domain such as an internet forum such as CS to be used in print within the CS/CJ 'umbrella' - in the same way our local rag does sometimes when I have commented on a news item on their website.
