General Demolition was appointed by Glenkerrin UK to strip out and demolish four buildings adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Shoreditch, London’s newest contemporary luxury hotel, to make way for a new six-storey extension. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p><o:p> </o:p>The buildings being demolished are vacant, mixed residential and retail properties and include a four-storey Victorian property and a fire damaged four-storey Edwardian building with residential space above.<o:p></o:p><o:p> </o:p>The 17-week demolition programme, included asbestos and pigeon guano removal, strip out, demolition, excavation, concrete works, underpinning and piling mat installation. Specialist operations include environmental clean-up, ground remediation, brick reclamation, archaeological works and weatherproofing.<o:p></o:p>
