SED through the years
Following on from Nick Drew's excellent Digger blog posts on SED of yesteryear, I thought it would be nice to collate all the photos for viewing in one place.

Utility Accident
You may or may not know about the US law requiring you call for utility locating before you do any excavation. The pictures below are a result of a guy using a post hole digger with out calling for "locates" and he hit an underground, high-pressure cross-country gas pipe. He was never found. Two homes were destroyed. Thanks to Iceman for sending ConstructionSpace these photos.

Where is my dozer?
Thanks to Sustainer for sending us these excellent photos. This is the largest earth mover in the world, en route to an open-pit coal mine. It's cheaper to move fully assembled. A few specs: $100m price tag, 5 years to design & manufacture, 5 years to build, 311ft tall & 705ft long, requires 5 operators, bucket wheel has 70ft diameter, 20 buckets each able to hold 530ft3 of material, max speed 1/3 mph. But where is the missing dozer?
