Steam Boss was saying on another thread about how health and safety standards have changed, and mentioned those famous old photos of construction workers perching precariously on New York skyscrapers in the 1930s. I thought it would good to remind ourselves how different things were back then!

If CSCS cards can be forged this easily, what is the point of them? Using the same name and number of an existing card and just changing the photograph is hardly rocket science.

How ridiculous to compare the safety of asbestos with the safety of aspirin. You are never likely to consume large quantitites of aspirin unless you're trying to top yourself. However, if you are a builder working on a certain age of property it's very likely you'll find large quantities of asbestos.

E-auctions are about one thing - driving down price. Forget all the puff you get from clients about buying on best value, etc, - price is what it really comes back to.
