Civils CAD Specialist (Coordinator & Trainer)

My Client is one of the largest international, multi-discipline engineering and building consultancies with offices in South Africa and elsewhere. They are now seeking a Civils CAD Specialist (Coordinator & Trainer) for their Sunninghill (Johannesburg) office in South Africa. This is a permanent role. Substantial experience in AutoCAD at advanced, specialist level in the Key Performance Areas listed. The ability to plan and execute CAD training programmes and workshops at all levels. Solid experience in AutoCAD Civil3D and Civil Designer would be an advantage. Intermediate proficiency in Civil3D and GIS. Competent in CAD application on major Civil Infrastructure engineering projects. A high level of general computer literacy is a must. The ability to communicate complex technical information effectively. A logical, organised and systematic thinker is required with knowledge of CAD customisation techniques. You Must be prepared to travel extensively both inside and outside South Africa and Must have code 08 drivers license and own reliable transport. Key Performance Areas will be Coordination of multi-disciplinary CAD production on major projects. Liaise with project managers on the optimum use of CAD and project data management. End-user CAD training and individual skills assessment. Ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of corporate CAD standards. Direct involvement in national initiatives to improve efficiency across the company. Investigate and evaluate new engineering software. Plan and execute roll-out of new versions. Manage and report on licence usage. All applicants with a South African Visa will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given to South Africans.
