DESIGN MANAGER

You will be responsible for:

The review of contractor's submittals including design / construction programmes, quality documents, method statements, specifications, detailed design calculations, shop drawings, material and equipment submittals etc.

Arranging common and individual meetings with internal staff, client and sub-consultants as necessary in order to assure that staff feel comfortable, well informed and developed according to politics and procedures in own company.

Attendance at design progress and coordination meetings with construction supervision and contractor's design consultants on design and build contracts.

Ensuring that design staff are adequately briefed to respond to contractor's submittals in a timely manner in accordance with instructions received from respective Design Coordinators.

Planning of supervision tasks as stated in the supervision manual.

Ideally you will be in a Senior Civil / Infrastructure Engineer post with extensive design and project management experience on major airport infrastructure projects. You should have a degree in Civils/Infrastructure, with a minimum 15 years post qualification experience of which 8 years should be on international airport projects, with 5 years minimum airport design experience. Preferably you will also have 3-5 years Middle East working experience.

Experience of Geometric and Structural Design of Roads & Highway pavements, Geometric and Structural Design of Runways, Taxiways & Aprons.

Experience of problem-solving of interface design issues related to airside and landside infrastructure. Knowledge of computer software for airfield/landside infrastructure design (In-roads or MX). Au-fait with British & International Civil Aviation Organisation codes & standards (ICAO) or American (FAA) standards.

You will be required, but not limited to on a daily basis, to provide technical leadership/support, advice and instructions to multidisciplinary airside/landside design team, reviewing contractor's design for airfield infrastructure including:

- airfield grading design
- airfield pavement geometrical and structural design
- coordination of airport pavement design with airside/landside building and utilities
- Undertaking new design and modifications for airside and landside infrastructure based on site conditions
