Electrical Engineer - Wind Power Integration

Our client are one of the largest consulting groups within the energy sector, they work on some of the most prestigious global projects at the cutting edge of technology.

The engineer will act as the focal point for our client's transmission team with regard to its operational involvement in all wind farm projects and other renewable offerings. They will also liaise with other businesses and will represent the transmission business in any multi disciplinary teams assembled by the group to address relevant projects.

The candidate will be expected to participate in projects to facilitate design, site supervision and project management services as dictated by client requirements. The candidate will also be expected to take part in business development activities such as tender support and preparation as well as meeting with clients to help secure future projects.

The transmission and distribution business has a global remit and candidates will be expected to travel to client offices and sites both within the UK and overseas for short periods of time.

Candidates will need to be qualified to degree level in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a significant track record of working within projects relating to the integration of wind farms and other renewable energy sources into the existing power grid. Ideally candidates will be able to carry out Due Diligence tasks for Lenders, Sellers and Buyers and will have good understanding of UK regulatory requirements. Prior experience of the design of substations, sub-sea cable and offshore installations in such a context is desirable. The role is a key position both within the group and candidates will need to be able to demonstrate first class communication skills.

Location - Glasgow or Brighton
