A large firm of consulting engineers urgently seeks a Geotechnical Engineer on a contract basis to join them in Canary Wharf, East London to work on the Crossrail project. You must have significant post graduate experience and be ideally working towards becoming chartered and have a detailed understanding of major civil engineering projects and the role of geotechnics within them. You will need relevant geotechnical design experience and be able work as part of a team. You will have a BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering and ideally an MSc in geotechnical engineering plus be either already MICE qualified or working towards becoming chartered and have experience with consultants / contractors and have good capabilities in a range of geotechnical analysis software for foundations, retaining structures and slopes with a thorough understanding of geotechnical design principles and their relevant applications and experience with main contractors on major Design & Build projects. Familiarity and use of Eurocodes and other international design standards is preferable.
