Procurement Buyer (Sport)

A key organisation involved in the delivery of a major, global sporting event is recruiting a Sports Buyer. You will have purchased sporting equipment, have strong stakeholder management skills and be commercially minded.



Key Responsibilities:



-Lead the procurement activity (plan, source, select and negotiate) across a number of categories with sports equipment manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, with the aim of minimising cash outlay and maximising VIK opportunities.



-Ensure that excellence is achieved through the drafting, development and implementation of effective procurement strategies.



-Achieve Sport's requirement to drive down cost by demonstrating best value for money. Promote an integrated and collaborative approach to procurement while maintaining the rules of fair competition.



-Support the Sport Procurement Manager in high-value/high-complexity procurements.





Key Skills:



-Experience in procurement of sports equipment or associated sporting goods and services.



-A creative approach to procurement with a view to achieving goods and services free of charge or with very deep discounts by leveraging the power of the client



-Excellent commercial and negotiation skills with a track record of significant savings.



-Experience of manufacturing or retail of sports equipment.



-Hands-on procurement experience gained on large, complex project procurements.



-Proven track record in negotiating complex category-specific deals.



-Experience of sustainable procurement practices and techniques.



-Excellent project management expertise and the ability to drive for and exceed required goals.
