PROJECT DIRECTOR

Main Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility to deliver the project, valued in excess of US$150m, ensuring quality, timeliness and adherence to the budget.
- Represent the JV to the Client and its representatives.
- Supervise approx. 100 staff and 600 workforce.
- Procurement and negotiation of major subcontract, and supplier packages, including plant and equipment.
- Analyze deliverables and set the objectives for most efficient methods procurement, plant and human resources utilization, and financial matters (forecast and expenditure).
- Responsible for Quality-Health-Safety-Environment (QHSE) implementation and compliance of the project.
- Defines the structure to be built in the finest detail: execution schedule, technical options, methodology etc.
- Composition and motivation of a cohesive project team to meet the requirements of the project.
- Set up control procedures and manage the project to ensure delivery of commercial and financial targets (budget, cash flow and final margin).
- Defines the contractual and commercial strategies of the project.
- Liaises with the client during the entire execution phase of the project.
- Coordination, evaluation and submission of variations and claims.
- Preparation and presentation of monthly reports and forecasts to the JV Board of Directors.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Must have a recognised Engineering Degree (or similar)
- A minimum of 20 years' experience in heavy civil works, including marine and bridge works is required.
- Significant international experience as Project Director on large scale civil projects, including Design and Build projects.
- Middle East and Joint Venture experience is an advantage.
