Project Manager

An excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to work with a leading defence client on aerospace and military land vehicle projects. Candidates must have experience in a Project Management post within the Defence or Aerospace industry.



Candidates MUST fulfil the following pre-requisites:

- Project Management experience

- Defence Industry or Aerospace experience

- Formal Project Management qualification

- Engineering background

- Be able to gain full SC level Security Clearance for defence projects

- Be able to work in a permanent position in Cheltenham



Job Purpose:

A Project Management role has arisen within the business to co-ordinate activities on numbers of contracts as well as providing technical input to the development of the projects from concept, to unit production build, and operational acceptance. Main duties will include:





Key Responsibilities are as follows:

*Management of projects to time and cost

*Co-ordination of the team and resources assigned to the projects

*Provision of management information reporting on progress both internally and externally

â?¢Development of close, long term customer relationships

â?¢Development of appropriate recovery plans to achieve milestones as required

â?¢Leading bid preparation activities as required

â?¢Assisting the team to develop creative solutions to technical problems



Personal Attributes:

â?¢Broad engineering experience with ideally some commercial or other managerial exposure

â?¢Team leader / project management experience with a small technical team

â?¢Degree in an appropriate technical discipline

â?¢Highly proficient with Microsoft Project or equivalent

â?¢Exposure to project management methodologies such as PRINCE

â?¢Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness

â?¢Well organised, robust, self motivated team player

â?¢Experience within a military/defence/aerospace industry would be an advantage.
