Having seen a recent period of growth, our clients' current focus is now on improving margins and profitability in what is a highly competitive market place. Consequently we have been asked to recruit a permanent Project Manager.You will be based out of Hampshire, but will cover projects within the South East to include London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Oxfordshire etc.

We require a candidate who is mechanically biased but it is essential you are experienced in the provision of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services.The position will require you to manage both Mechanical and Electrical Projects and staff and to take responsibility for the establishment of targets and their achievement for all commercial and financial activities to ensure the Company and Client needs are met or exceeded at all times

Duties:

  • Provide Weekly report (Progress and Contract) to the Contracts Manager
  • Support Site Manager
  • Take full responsibility for all Staff in your Team and oversee career development, training and motivation
  • Manage and pro-actively support all commercial activities to ensure they reflect the requirements of the Business
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered to the agreed time/ cost/ service specification/ presentation
  • Keep and maintain full documentation to ensure that good business practice is achieved and that the Company's contractual and corporate responsibilities are discharged
  • Obtain competitive quotes and appoint major Sub-Contractors
  • Sub Contract Payment Certificates to be completed Monthly for allocated Contracts
  • Sub-Contractor Control Meetings (to be held Weekly), chaired by the Site Manager/Contracts Engineer
  • Valuations/Variations Administration
  • Maintain detailed financial control of allocated Projects
  • People Management Processes, including recruitment, training, career development, inductions, disciplinary and grievances

Requirements:

  • Fully mechanically trained.
  • Experience of running Design and Build Projects up to £4millin in Value
  • Strong Commercial acumen
  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
  • Previous experience in a similar role
