Senior Design Coordinator

Permanent Vacancy for a Senior Design coordinator based in East London. You will be working for one of the UK's largest M&E contractors on a £40million Educational Contract.Reporting directly into the Project Manager you will be tasked with processing all relevant design works. You must be able to challenge designs where issues of quality or cost are involved.

Duties

• Manage the flow of design information and progress of design information release.
• Assist the project team in the preparation and evaluation of procurement information.
• Using the project document control system, ensure design information is accurately recorded, tracked and distributed as required.
• Control co-ordination of detailed design for all disciplines, including specialist subcontractors.
• Check design information produced for compliance with contract obligations.
• Adhere to engineering practices and keeping up to date as to legislative requirements
• Review business management manuals/processes
• Ensure necessary design information is submitted for timely approval to statutory authorities.

Requirements:

• Design experience from conception to completion of a project
• Understanding of design/operations interface and site installations process
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Design packages
• As a proven Senior Design Coordinator you will have a track record working on Educational / Building Schools for the Future (BSF) major projects.
• Knowledge of design time, environmental issues and cost parameters.
• You will possess either a Degree or HNC and will have the drive and confidence to work in a professional site based team.
• Previous experience as a Senior Design Coordinator on a similar project value
