Senior Design Manager / Design Manager

Our client a leading contractor has recently been awarded with the BSF project in a borough in

London. This is due for completion by 2020, with ?21.9bn due to be spent between 2008 and 2011.

They require a Senior / Design Manager to carry out the following:

The management of design on a specific large and / or complex bid or project or a programme of work / multiple bids or projects.
May be responsible for a design management team which could include Design Managers, Design Coordinators and Document Controllers.
KEY OBJECTIVE

To deliver the correct design by realising the design opportunities and mitigating the design risks to ensure bid winning solutions and projects that can be delivered effectively to meet the strategy of the Group.
To deliver an effective design management service, our Design Management team members need to be: ?Multi-skilled construction professionals, who use good design judgement, plus the ability to focus on the key issues, to lead, brief and develop cohesive teams of designers, end users, and constructors?
On specific bid or project issues to the Bid or Project Leader and to the Principal Design Manager on functional issues (compliance, development and improvement).

DESIGN PROCUREMENT

Select and agree with the Design Management Leadership Team and the Bid or Project Leadership Teams appropriate Designers for bids and projects.
