Requirements Assist on pre-construction activities and tender opportunities. On some projects the role may extend to site based design coordination. Control and interrogate the activities of external design consultants. Responsibilities 
? Interrogation of enquiry documents, usually in the form of an Employer?s Requirements. ? Production of a Contractor?s Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments. ? Manage our design process via external consultants ? Progress design issues within a strict timescale ? Ensure the consultant scope of services and fees are agreed ? Introduce relevant ?Value Engineering? to provide a commercial advantage The Individual ? Computer literate ? Commercial awareness ? Have an understanding of different Client procurement routes ? Excellent communication, presentation and diplomacy skills ? Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative ? Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage. ? A construction/project manager background, although a practical design background would be considered. ? Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads ? CAD experience would be an advantage ? Ability to manage design progress and external consultants, and chair meetings. ? Knowledge of design process, responsibilities and opportunities. ? Appreciation of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures. ? Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure ? Be able to motivate yourself

They have recently been awarded a project in
North Wales?32 Million in value to design and build, Porthmadog Bypass. The project will likely take up to 2 years to complete and the project starts in April 2010. 
Project Experience 
The three-mile road will take traffic through south Gwynedd, avoiding the busy town of
Porthmadogand the villages of Tremadog and Minfordd. Starting at the western end of Tremadog, the bypass will see the construction of a new roundabout on the existing A487/A498 junction, before rejoining the existing A487 at a roundabout between the Ffestiniog railway station at Minffordd and the Bron y Garth Hospital 
You must have a HNC/HND/ Degree in Civil Engineering, previous experience of managing design &amp; build schemes and be a team player but able to work on your own initiative.
